Chapter 1

Have you ever tried to take an advansed math course in swahili?

..chances are that if you did you would learn more swahili than math.

Ofcourse the previous basics of math you've learned would help you.

.but ultimately you would end up spending more time trying to.
understand instructions and communicate than actually learning math.

That is exactly what happened when I started a "Software Programming Course"
at SENA only 4 months after arriving in Colombia.

Chapter 2

.Never in my life have I taken a spanish class.

I don't know much about grammar, spelling or literature.

The spanish I had was from working with Mexicans in United States.

Needless to say, my spanish was very bad.

I was actually Speaking mexican slag when I interracted with people.

But Thanks to an exchange of knowledge between English & Programming.

I managed to pass the theoredical phase and truly began to learn software programming.

Chapter 3

I know what your thinking, your saying, "wait a minute",
"James you speak english and everything in software development is written in English"

And that was my secret weapon, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I didn't have
any previous exposure to software development prior to coming to Colombia

Now keep this in mind when I tell you that all my first impressions, introductions and explanations
into software development have been in spanish

I remember coming home from school and opening up my laptop to study
and review all the concepts I didnt understand, but this time in English

Sure, I had a secret weapon, but in reality It was taking me twice as long
to understand what most of my classmates had learned that day

Chapter 4

I've never been afraid to say what's on my mind, but trying to express it in spanish
seemed to really make people laugh in school

I enjoyed seeing people smile and laugh so my questions and communication was constant

This proved to be very valuable because the more I spoke, the better I got at Speaking spanish,
not only that, but I also began to understand more. The more I understood the clearer these new
and complex concepts became to me.

Working as an auxiliary software developer, I am reminded everyday of the value that constant clear communication
brings to a team and this is what we are here to do as a team

This my friends is the secret all the Language Gurus are trying to hoard.
but Lucky for us! We have here a tight knit growing community of English learning software developers

Chapter 5

As software developers we always find a way to optimize, restructure and improve techniques and paradigms

This is the software Developer approach to learning english.
